Mermaid renders to static SVG at compile time and is inlined. Readers run no diagram library at all.
Tabs fall back to fully expanded, collapsibles to native details. Not a word is lost.
Source files stay .md and still read fine on GitHub. All nine container directives are standard directive syntax.
The output is always dark, whatever the reader's system says; printing switches it to light. Diagram lines and text follow along, in pure CSS.
pamphlet extract gives you the original .md back. The output is its own backup.
